In New York City’s Meatpacking District stands a 19 floor luxury boutique hotel, featuring 338 rooms with floor to ceiling windows featuring sweeping views of Manhattan and the Hudson River.
Opened over a decade ago, The Standard High Line is one of the most desired lodging options for the city’s many tourists. Sound Investment was contracted to provide our audio design and integration expertise prior to the hotel’s opening in 2009. Our team of technicians installed an abundance of Funktion One loudspeakers throughout the entire hotel ensuring the equipment blended seamlessly into the decor.
The top two floors of the hotel house the penthouse nightclub Le Bain, one of New York City’s most exclusive clubs, known as either the Boom Boom Room or The Top of The Standard. With a name such as the Boom Boom Room, in reference to the club’s complex high-end audio system, the Sound Investment team had to install a noise masking system in the hotel’s VIP suites below the rooftop. This was to ensure that sleeping guests were not disturbed by the club’s late night hours. The noise masking process included installing springs underneath all speakers to silence the vibrations of the transmitted energy within the audio system to the suites below.
Between the breathtaking views of Manhattan and high resolution audio reaching every inch of space, The Standard High Line has set a new standard for luxurious and inviting hospitality.
