The Lodge Room, a historic Freemasons Lodge, has undergone a remarkable transformation, blending its rich history with cutting-edge audio and visual technology. This project, completed in two phases, showcases Sound Investment’s expertise in creating immersive environments that honor the past while embracing modern innovations.
The initial phase of the Lodge Room’s transformation was completed in 2017, where we focused on enhancing the venue’s audio and lighting capabilities. Our team designed and programmed a comprehensive audio and lighting system for both the Front Restaurant and the Main Room. In the Front Restaurant, we installed 8x Funktion-One F81 speakers and 2x subs, ensuring clear and powerful sound throughout the space. The Main Room received a state-of-the-art audio system with a full range of high-quality speakers, subs, monitors, and a mixing console to manage the sound. This setup provides seamless control over the audio experience, making the space ideal for live performances and events.
In 2022, we returned for the second phase of the project, adding visual enhancements to complement the existing audio system. We installed a massive motorized projection screen and a HD projector, enabling stunning visual displays that elevate the event experience. Additionally, we integrated moving lights and additional monitors, further enhancing the room’s atmosphere.
The design approach for the Lodge Room was centered on preserving its unique character while optimizing it for modern events. The space, adorned with ornate woodwork and Masonic symbols, required careful integration of technology without compromising its historical significance. One of the most unique aspects of this project was working around the venue’s hidden door, which we preserved and now use as an access point to the green room area. Our expert acousticians mapped out an audio system capable of delivering up to 110dB within the concert space, while still adhering to noise tolerance levels, as the venue is located in a residential area with houses directly behind the stage.
