Our Process
AV Design and Integration
PHASE 1
System Specification and Schematic Design
1. Initial Consultation
Our initial consultation with the client includes a discussion of every aspect of the project, including client expectations, budget, timeline, and equipment or brand preferences. This will result in a complete written system specification that will be used to guide the Schematic Design.
2. Schematic Design (SD) Development
Using the system specification, Sound Investment (SI) will design a system that ensures that every aspect of the client’s vision will be successfully implemented. Our team will create a design document and visual presentation, to walk the client through our design and recommendations. If the interior design is modified during the construction phase of the project, our team will collaborate with the design and architectural teams to adjust and modify the design of the audio visual system.
3. Schematic Design Sign-Off and Budget Approval
All Schematic Design documents will be presented to the client during a page turn with the client to review the floor plans, equipment lists, audio coverage maps, and zone layouts. If the client requests changes, our team will redline all agreed upon corrections. The project manager will ensure we are still within budget, and confirm the client is highly satisfied with the designs.
PHASE 2
Planning, Documentation and Procurement
4. Finalize Construction Documents
Once the client has signed-off on our design documents, our team will create construction documents by adding all required technical specifications including power, HVAC, and rigging requirements. We collaborate with the client’s MEP designer to make sure that all our systems work with their provisions for electricity, conduit, and climate control. We also work closely with the interior design team to make sure any devices we have designed within millwork will fit, maintain the visual appearance and be acoustically transparent. A critical component in this phase is to review the construction documents with the client’s general contractor and team. Once all these details come together, it becomes a buildable construction document.
5. Procurement and Equipment Delivery
All audio/visual equipment required for the client’s project will be procured by our team in a manner that ensures the project is completed on time and on budget. The Project Manager will schedule all audio/visual equipment deliveries during the appropriate construction phase within the project timeline to prevent mistakes, delays, and to protect equipment deliveries.
PHASE 3
Installation and Training
7. Supervising Construction and Installation
Our nationwide team of expert technicians are equipped to install the most complex audio visual systems. A dedicated project manager will manage our in-house team of technicians and/or third party contractors to ensure an organized and expedited installation. The project manager will communicate with the client to make sure they are kept up to date with the progress of the project at all times.
8. Programming and Commissioning
Once the system is installed, our technicians test, program, and commission the equipment to maximize the audio visual experience. The client will be given a walkthrough of the space as we test their newly installed audio visual system.
9. Training
In addition, we train the client’s operating staff in the audio visual system’s operation and maintenance. The event space has reached its highest potential and is ready to open. After the project is completed, we honor all manufacturer warranties and offer maintenance on all of the installed equipment.
