Every successful restaurant is built around a feeling. Long before guests notice the food, the service, or the design details, they experience the atmosphere. Part of the Lettuce Entertain You Restaurants (LEYE) portfolio, Ema reflects the hospitality group’s reputation for creating distinctive dining experiences rooted in both design and guest experience. Sound Investment Audio was selected to install an audio system that would support that experience throughout the property while maintaining the distinctive character that has made the Ema and Aba restaurant concepts so recognizable.
Completed in February 2026, the goal was to carry forward the audio quality and guest experience established at previous Ema and Aba locations while adapting the system to the unique layout of the Austin property.
One of the defining features of Ema Austin is its expansive outdoor environment. The restaurant includes a large patio built around an existing tree, along with additional outdoor dining areas that extend the guest experience beyond the main interior spaces. These environments required a carefully planned audio strategy capable of delivering consistent coverage across every seating area without creating hotspots, dead zones, or interference with neighboring businesses.
To achieve this, our team deployed a large number of loudspeakers throughout the property, allowing coverage to be distributed evenly rather than relying on higher output from fewer locations. RCF, Tannoy, and Bag End loudspeakers were integrated throughout the restaurant and patio areas, while QSC control provided flexible system management and day-to-day operational control.
Just as important as performance was preserving the visual identity of the Ema brand. Known for its lush greenery, mature trees, layered lighting, and inviting atmosphere, the restaurant’s design encourages guests to relax and linger. The audio system was integrated to support these environments without becoming a visual focal point, allowing the architecture, landscaping, and hospitality experience to remain front and center.
The completed system delivers consistent, natural sound throughout the property, ensuring that every table, patio seat, and gathering space shares the same carefully crafted atmosphere. At Ema Austin, the technology lives in the background, helping create an experience that feels effortless for guests while supporting the standards expected from one of the industry’s most respected restaurant groups.
