Sound Investment was commissioned by the esteemed Boka restaurant group, recipient of the James Beard Award, to design and integrate a premium audio system for their remarkable indoor/outdoor restaurant and speakeasy, Le Select. Nestled in Chicago’s vibrant River North neighborhood, Le Select offers a French brasserie experience that combines traditional techniques, warm service, and locally sourced provisions.
Within the dining area, our expert team strategically installed professional in-ceiling loudspeakers that were custom painted to seamlessly blend with the interior decor. This approach allowed for an unobtrusive yet immersive audio experience. The high-end sound system provided exceptional audio coverage for the main dining area, outdoor space, and speakeasy. With meticulous planning, both the indoor and outdoor areas were outfitted with an abundance of carefully placed loudspeakers, combined with state-of-the-art processing technology to ensure fully integrated audio throughout the venue.
One of our key challenges was to optimize audio production efficiency within the speakeasy while concealing each speaker within the ceiling. Despite the limitations posed by in-ceiling speakers, our team’s expertise shone through, ensuring that the third-floor speakeasy came alive with impeccable sound quality. Every inch of the space was carefully considered to deliver a consistent and immersive audio experience for guests.
