Completed in January 2025, Sound Investment proudly delivered a full AV design and integration project for Rustic Root, a standout venue located in Solana Beach, California. Known for its upscale American cuisine and vibrant rooftop dining experience, Rustic Root features bold interior design and an elevated atmosphere, requiring a technology solution that could meet both aesthetic and performance demands without compromising the venue’s visual identity.
Our team approached the Rustic Root project with a clear design goal: to create a high-performing, flexible audio system that would enhance the guest experience while remaining virtually invisible to the eye. Working closely with the venue’s design team, our lead designers crafted a discreet layout and selected components that could be seamlessly concealed within the décor. This careful planning preserved the venue’s dramatic interior, while allowing audio to blend effortlessly into the space.
We integrated a system featuring Funktion-One loudspeakers, Sonance architectural speakers, NST Audio processing, and control. This combination offers clear, balanced sound at both low and high volumes, allowing Rustic Root to transition smoothly from a relaxed dining environment to a more lively nightlife setting. Whether it’s background music during brunch, a high-energy DJ set, or live sports broadcasts, the system adapts to deliver an exceptional audio experience across the board.
Unique to this project was the challenge of preserving the aesthetic integrity of such a visually compelling space. Our concealed speaker placement and strategic acoustic layout achieved even sound dispersion while keeping the design vision intact.
