Slate Summit
Sound Investment worked with WPI Event Partners to deliver an epic experience for the 2024 Slate Summit at Navy Pier, marking 8 years of collaboration on the project! This exclusive event brought together 5,000 passionate attendees for a dynamic and unforgettable gathering and was a complete take over of Navy Pier. Our state-of-the-art AV services transformed the entire 170,000-square-foot Festival Hall into a general session and multiple conference spaces for breakouts!
Choosing the right venue is key for an event of this scale, and Navy Pier, with its extensive facilities and iconic location, was selected for its ability to accommodate large crowds and provide a memorable backdrop.
Space planning and layout played a big role in ensuring the success of the Slate Summit 2024. Although a very large space, the Grand Ballroom at Navy Pier was too small to support the general session for 5,000 people. Instead, Festival Hall, a very large exhibition space was use for the general session and three large breakouts. Portable stadium seating with fold-out chairs were used to maximize floor space and take advantage of the ceiling height, ensuring every attendee had a good view.
Within Festival Hall, mobile stages with roofs were used for three major breakouts, accommodating 500 people each, ensuring adaptability in space utilization. These stages were draped off and acoustically treated with noise control and white noise to maintain an ideal environment. Innovative spaces like boats were used for additional breakout sessions, adding a unique element to the conference experience. The Grand Ballroom was designated for the end-of-day party, creating a festive and engaging atmosphere away from the main conference areas.
Sound Investment provided an exceptional audiovisual setup that was key to the immersive experience at the Slate Summit 2024. Four large format projection screens and scenic LED treatments in the main session area created a captivating visual experience, while additional screens were strategically placed in breakout stages and common areas. State-of-the-art sound systems were installed throughout the venue to ensure that every presentation and discussion was heard clearly by all attendees. Existing structural elements were lit to play to the size of the set, enhancing the visual impact and atmosphere of the event.
The coordination between the Slate team, event producers and Sound Investment ensured that every moment of the Slate Summit 2024 was smooth and impactful. By providing top-notch audiovisual support and creative space utilization, our team helped create lasting memories for all attendees.
