For the 17th Annual Amazon Kids Back-to-School Fashion Show, Iron23 in New York City became the setting for a high-energy runway experience built for two audiences at once. Presented by Haddad Brands and Rookie Kids, the event showcased upcoming fall looks from brands including Nike, Converse, Hurley, Levi’s, and Lacoste for guests in the room and viewers watching nationwide on Amazon Live. Sound Investment provided the audio, LED, lighting, and power systems supporting the production from runway to broadcast.
A fashion show built for both a live audience and a shoppable livestream requires every technical element to serve more than one purpose. The experience needs to feel exciting inside the venue while providing the lighting, sound, and visual environment needed for cameras to capture the runway effectively. For the Back-to-School Fashion Show, our team worked within a single production environment to support both sides of that experience.
A conventional lighting rig spanning the length of the runway provided the foundation for the show’s visual design. Lighting helped define the runway, showcase each look, and maintain consistency as models moved through the space, while also creating an energetic atmosphere for the audience. Audio reinforced the music and live programming throughout the venue, while LED and power infrastructure supported the additional technical demands of the production.
The runway featured professional child models alongside children from celebrity families, with television personality La La hosting the event. Live entertainment from the Brooklyn United Marching Band and Central Jersey All Stars added another layer of energy to the program. With fashion presentations, entertainment, celebrity guests, media coverage, and a national livestream all happening within the same event, the production needed to accommodate a variety of moments without losing focus on the runway.
For Sound Investment, the Back-to-School Fashion Show was also an example of how technical production extends beyond what audiences see on camera. Behind the runway, lighting positions, audio systems, LED technology, power distribution, and technical coordination all worked together to create the finished experience.
Working alongside Haddad Brands, AES NYC, Essay Video, and the broader production team, Sound Investment helped bring the 17th Annual Amazon Kids Back-to-School Fashion Show to life at Iron23. The result was a runway production designed to connect the energy of an in-person fashion event with the reach of a nationwide digital audience.
