At Mizumi inside Wynn Las Vegas, dining is presented as a form of Japanese artistry. Each room offers its own experience—whether it’s the intimacy of omakase, the energy of teppanyaki, or the calm of Sansui dining overlooking the koi pond. Sound Investment Audio was brought in to design a sound system capable of supporting these shifting environments while remaining completely hidden within the restaurant’s refined architectural details.

The project required a ground-up audio rebuild with almost no physical disruption. Mizumi had recently undergone a major renovation, so the new system needed to integrate into an already finished space without altering the carefully curated finishes. Massive overhead timber elements, inspired by sculptural “chopsticks,” defined the ceiling and became the guiding constraint. Every component had to disappear into or behind these structures.

To deliver the performance level that Wynn expects, Sound Investment installed Funktion-One loudspeakers and subwoofers, powered by Full Fat Audio amplification and controlled through NST Audio processing. These were not placed traditionally. Speakers were pocketed into soffits, color-matched to surrounding materials, and in some cases mounted discreetly above the architectural timbers to preserve the clean, uninterrupted lines of the design. Existing in-ceiling speakers remained for visual reasons, but the new system carries the acoustic workload, providing clarity and depth the previous setup could never achieve.

The transformation is felt rather than seen. Mizumi now benefits from a rich and evenly distributed soundscape that enhances each dining style—supportive in the quieter spaces, dynamic where energy is essential, and always invisible to the guest’s eye.

This project demonstrates Sound Investment’s ability to tailor high-performance audio around demanding aesthetics, elevating world-class dining experiences without disturbing their visual identity.
